Laura Ling: Sentenced in North Korea

On March 17, American journalist Laura Ling was arrested by North Korean military on the Chinese border.

Now comes to the really troubling news: following her and friend Euna Lee's June 4 trial for alleged "hostile acts," Ling - whose sister Lisa is a talk show host - has been sentence to 12 years in a North Korea labor camp.

As first reported by CNN, the Korean Central News Agency says the women will be serving time "for the grave crime they committed against the Korean nation and their illegal border crossing."

The U.S. State Department has not given up hope of their return home, however. Said spokesman Ian Kelley in a statement:

"We are deeply concerned by the reported sentencing of the two American citizen journalists by North Korean authorities, and we are engaged through all possible channels to secure their release. We once again urge North Korea to grant the immediate release of the two American citizen journalists on humanitarian grounds."

Lisa Ling (pictured, on the left, with her sister above), meanwhile, has said she hopes this tragic situation can at least enable the U.S. and North Korea to move forward with diplomatic talks:

"We would champion the opportunity to have these girls be the catalyst for diplomacy. I think it could be really amazing. The problem right now is that our two countries don't have a diplomatic relationship and so communication has been really limited. We are trying to encourage our two countries to come together and if this is the reason why they do, then we'll take it.

Because her and creepy boyfriend Spencer Pratt clearly don't get enough exposure, a source has confirmed that Heidi won't just appear in the September issue of everyone's favorite men's magazine; she'll don her birthday suit for it.

"There is nudity. It's tastefu. She had a lot of fun with it," said a source.

Does this count as "tasteful nudity?" Heidi Montag fans both hope she shows a lot more in Playboy.

Heidi Montag to Launch Dry Shampoo Line

It was only a matter of time.

In the past week, Heidi Montag suffered an epic meltdown, bolted the Costa Rican jungle in a huff more than once, and was taken to the hospital after falling ill on the set of NBC's reality show I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here.

But remember, this is Heidi we are talking about. As in, the wife of the great Spencer Pratt. Nothing can stop the gruesome twosome from trying to cash in!

If you recall, the 22-year-old reality TV star brought along dry shampoo as her "single luxury item" under the series’ rules, then flipped the f*%k out when one of her competitors yoinked it, eventually leading to Speidi's first departure.

Well, a rep for Heidi confirms that the 22-year-old star is getting ready to launch - you knew it was coming - her very own dry-shampoo line.

Heidi Montag as we are used to seeing her (right), and during her stint on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, where she was seen sans makeup for a change.

The product will be called, appropriately, Heidi Montag Dry Shampoo.

No need for The Hills' plastic princess to worry about running out of the stuff in the future - she’ll have an entire line all to her useless self.

Lauren Conrad Weighs In On Paris Hilton And Doug Reinhardt's Split

Former 'Hills' star says, 'I thought they were a good match.'

Earlier this week, reports emerged that Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt broke up — which came as a surprise to Reinhardt's onetime girlfriend and former "Hills" star Lauren Conrad.

"I didn't know that!" Conrad, who described Reinhardt as "pretty awesome," told Access Hollywood while promoting her new novel, "L.A. Candy." "I thought they were a good match."

Conrad, who briefly dated Reinhardt on "The Hills," said of reports that he and Hilton were going to marry, "She was going to marry a lot of people. But he had fun. That's all that matters."

"[We] dated my senior year of high school," Conrad recalled of the relationship. "He moved back and then it was like, 'Oh, we'll pick up where we left off'... for a couple of weeks.' "

Conrad, who didn't date much on the show but is currently linked to actor Kyle Howard, officially made her exit off the "Hills" on the show's season finale on May 31 where she decided to attend the wedding of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

At the wedding, LC also found herself face to face with her former Laguna Beach frenemie and new "Hills" star, Kristin Cavallari. Once the ceremony was over, Conrad cordially stepped out of the church and drove off, officially saying goodbye.

Megan Fox, Transformers Sequel Take Over Tokyo

Over the past few weeks, Megan Fox has been doing her part to publicize Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The actress has covered pretty much every magazine known to man, though the movie's producers may wish that she had kept her mouth closed during a few interviews, such as when she compared actors to gross hookers.

At the Tokyo premiere for this month's Transformers sequel, though, Fox finally gave fans what they've been clamoring for: shots of the star in clothes that barely even stay on her body. To wit:

In the latest issue of Esquire, Fox says: "I'm just really confident sexually, and I think that sort of oozes out of my pores. It's just there. It's something I don't have to turn on."

Chris Brown Kicks it with Khloe Kardashian in Klub; No One Kold Kocked

Chris Brown is keeping up with Khloe Kardashian! Sort of.

The celebrities both partied at LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau Hotel, but as part of a big group that included Bow Wow, Mario and Omarion. Chris and Bow Wow were last seen together collaborating on these awesome YouTube videos.

Chris and Khloe "were not there 'together,'" a source tells E! News.

The 20-year-old Brown was seen chatting up girls poolside at the posh hotel, where Khloe's filming her new reality show Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.

Last week, a staff member from The Hollywood Gossip tried to infiltrate said reality show and win a date with the lovely Kourtney, but it was not to be.

This isn't the first time Brown and Khloe Kardashian have been linked.

Khloe was supposedly seen with him before in South Beach, according to celeb gossip news reports, but it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

Chris Brown is scheduled to appear at a June 22 hearing on criminal threats and assault charges after he allegedly beat the crap out of Rihanna.

While the singer would undoubtedly prefer a plea bargain, which he has sought for months, Rihanna will testify against him if required by the court.

Fashion Face-Off: Heather Graham vs. Kristin Cavallari

Heather Graham and Kristin Cavallari are never afraid to show some skin - when it comes to stirring up trouble or in a sexy cutout dress they both wore.

Both blonde bombshells left their locks loose and curly and kept their accessories simple for their ensemble, as you can see in the two images below.

While the actress who enjoys epic boink-a-thons picked black strappy heels to complete her look, Kristin Cavallari opted for nude peep-toe pumps.

It looks like Heather went with no underwear and the new Hills villain wore a flesh-colored coverup underneath, but, tough to say. We may never know.

On a side note, Kristin wore it to The Wizard of Oz exhibition at L.A.'s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Tuesday night. Hills fans recall who used to attend that same institution: Lauren Conrad herself.

Howard Stern to Letterman: Jay Leno Sucks

Jay Leno has left The Tonight Show for a new prime time series, but that was not about to stop Howard Stern from making his feelings about him known.

In summation, the shock jock ripped Leno during his appearance on last night's Late Show and vowed to help David Letterman take down Conan O'Brien.

"We gotta beat this Conan. For God sakes, how are you feeling that Jay left late-night television and now we got a new guy we gotta compete with?" the admittedly disgruntled, bitter old man Stern asked an amused Letterman.

"And I wanna say something to this audience about loyalty ... Dave put me on national television many, many years ago before I was known. And I have stuck with Dave ... I didn't like Jay. I never liked Jay. I can't stand Jay."

No arguments here - or from the studio audience that greeted the 55-year-old radio host's scathing, somewhat odd comments with big applause!

And Stern, who later talked about other important topics, such as his wedding to Beth Ostrosky, wasn't finished with Leno there by any means.

"Let me say something. I never seen anybody who behaves like a robot like this guy," he continued. "I watched his final show. He says goodbye to The Tonight Show. He says goodbye reading it off a teleprompter for cryin' out loud."

"Where's the emotion, and where's the humanity?"

Stern recounted his one and only appearance on The Tonight Show, when he "showed up with two lesbians," which naturally turned off Leno:

"He's shocked. He walks off his own show. I knew it wouldn't last."

Staying in Shape with Denise Richards

Some celebrities are just born with great bodies, while some have to work a little bit harder for them.

Denise Richards wrote in her blog that she gets asked about staying in shape and if her body is just luck, to which she explains, “To be honest, I was blessed with great genes, my father is the same size he was in high school and my sister is very thin.”

But even with great genes comes a little bit of a work, as Denise admitted, “BUT!! That doesn’t keep things firm! I do have to work at that. When my mom passed away I gained 10 lbs, which has never happened except when I was pregnant. I didn’t feel good, was very sad mourning my mom and wasn’t motivated at all. Last summer I started to feel better about her death and needed to pull myself together.”

So what does Denise do to keep her body in shape? She has a pilates machine, an instructor, enjoys walking in her neighborhood and of course – “Dancing With the Stars”.

“After the show, I really wanted to keep it up, I started taking Louis Van Amstel’s cardio ballroom class (he was Lisa Rinna’s partner the season she was on) www.dancingwithlouis.com he is awesome.”

Denise encourages everyone to take a class and start their own routine to stay in shape, even if you cannot afford a trainer.

“For those of you that are curious about me staying in shape and how to get started on a routine, I would say look in your area for some fun dance classes that you can go to, and if you can’t afford a pilates, instructor, maybe look into yoga classes or a pilates mat class,” she writes. “I actually like going to classes as well, the environment really motivates me. I find a strength training class (pilates, yoga) and a cardio class (dance, spinning) are the best combination for my body that combined with eating healthy and you’ll have a bikini body in no time!”

Whitney Port was spotted out and about in New York this weekend, and The City star, who's usually known for more fashion hits than misses, raised some eyebrows with a unique ensemble - a pair of barely-there shorts and a skimpy top!

She showed off some skin, which is great for the guys, however, her outfit was more ... umm, yeah. Hard to say what she's going for. It's a bit confusing all around.

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez: Introduced by Agent

Not only did Alex Rodriguez get a great new apartment, but it also led him to his new girlfriend, Kate Hudson.

Adam Modlin of NYC’s the Modlin Group, told A-Rod that sparks might fly with his other client -Hudson. Rodriguez took up the opportunity instantly.

“Adam and Alex have been close friend for years. They talk at least four or five times a day on the phone. Sometimes Alex will call him twice in an hour. Alex even flies Adam around on his private jet to spring training or games so they can hang out,” told an inside source.

Additionally, the insider said, “Adam has known Kate for a while, as well. He’s been showing her townhouses in the West Village for about a year now. He thought Alex and Kate would like one another, and sure enough, when they connected, it was a home run.”

And, if the two ever get serious; they won’t have any trouble finding their perfect dream home. “The man knows love and where to find a posh condo! If Alexa and Kate get married, at least they’ll know exactly who to call to find a place to live!”

Another source says A-Rod and Kate first met while “in Miami in the Fountainbleau hotel opening in November ’08-Adam introduced them. The first five to 10 minutes of their conversation was about Adam. At the time, A-Rold was all about Madonna.”

But once Madonna ran off to model Jesus Luz, A-Rod thought of Kate and it was love from there. Witnesses were shocked of the couple’s display of PDA at A-Rod’s 40/40 club.

“Alex was holding Kate’s hand the whole time and stealing kisses whenever he could,” says a witness.  “He is so into her and doesn’t even mind when his friends tease him about her.”

And the stunning Hudson also is completely devoted to him. She even wants to know more about his other love-baseball. Reports have said that she hired a baseball expert to teach her “the finger points of the game.”

That that bypassed the Sullivan Theater in New York City yesterday, where The Late Show with David Letterman is taped, were treated to a couple bits of Boom and one major Pow as Fergie strutted her stuff on the sidewalk.

Kris Allen Says Adam Lambert, Drake LaBry Are A 'Cool Combination'

'Adam is who he is and he's not afraid,' 'American Idol' winner says of Lambert.

While "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert has been content to allow the ongoing speculation over his sexuality to proliferate, his "Idol" cohorts have been directly addressing the issue. Late last month, judge Kara DioGuardi declared that she believed he "was always openly out." Now Kris Allen, the man who bested Lambert in competition, is applauding his friend's personal life.

"I think he's happier that he can be himself and it's nice," Allen told People magazine about Lambert, who has been photographed around Los Angeles recently with interior designer Drake LaBry.

"Adam is who he is and he's not afraid. I support him in whatever he does."

Calling LaBry "a really nice guy," Allen went on to praise the duo as a "cool combination" who are very different yet work well together.

"Drake's from Louisiana and Adam is from L.A.," Allen said. "But they click well and they're really nice together."

Allen, who just signed a deal with 19 Recordings to release his debut album in the late fall, was in L.A. to sing the national anthem at Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Lakers and the Orlando Magic. His audience at the Staples Center on Sunday night included fellow artists Rihanna, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli: Broken Up?

Why either one of these hotties would pull the plug, we can't imagine. But some say Bar Refaeli and Leonardo DiCaprio have called it quits once more.

"They're taking time off for the time being, they've split," says a source to People. "It could end up as a break. For now they're doing their own thing."

That much was certainly apparent over the weekend as the Israeli-born Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, 23, walked the red carpet at Hollywood Life's 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards solo, refusing to speak about Leonardo DiCaprio.

Meanwhile, the Titanic star hit the hotspot Avenue in New York City, where he was seen chatting with another woman: "He was standing at the bar in front of everyone talking to a girl the entire night – and it wasn't Bar," says one onlooker.

Conversely, TMZ posted photos of the two together - last night - at a bookstore. The celeb news site cites other people saying the two are still on.

Hopefully these two are not broken up. Why? Because we like them both. And they could potentially create the most beautiful celebrity babies ever one day.

A People source claiming to be in Bar's circle also suggested they broke up because Leo "didn't treat her very well, almost like a second-hand girlfriend."

However, TMZ counters that "you can take it to the bank Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli are still together ... we've talked to people who really know!"

We're not buying the breakup rumors for one simple reason. Have you seen Bar Refaeli pictures? Come on, People. Leo hasn't lost his mind completely.

Ryan Reynolds Likes Sandra Bullock Naked

Offering fans a little background information, Ryan Reynolds spilled some of Sandra Bullock’s secrets about their time filming “The Proposal”.

“She’s a catalog of old hip-hop tunes-it’s incredible. And she looks terrific naked,” the 32-year-old Canadian actor tells.

The two weren’t only friends on their movie set, but have been long time pals - as they go on vacations together with their significant others (Jesse James, 40, and Scarlett Johansson, 24).

Meanwhile, the movie is a romantic comedy that comes out June 19, in which Bullock plays a boss from hell as Reynolds portrays a long-suffering assistant whose relationship changes when Bullock avoids deportation to her native Canada.

When asked how fame has changed Ryan, Bullock says, “The person I met years ago [through a friend] is the same person sitting next to me now. No change in the humility, talent, kindness. He could’ve been an ass--. But not a damn thing has changed other than that his bikes get more expensive.”

Reynolds chimed in, “I think you have to start that way. Fame only amplifies a certain disposition.”

Sandra added, “I agree. Unless you’re a child in the industry and that’s all you know. That’s a sad, sad thing.”

“There’s nothing worse than hearing a 6-year-old demand Voss water. I’ve seen it,” told Reynolds.

The two also explained how Jesse and Scarlett are all so close. Reynolds loves certain aspects of Bullock’s marriage while Bullock loves how Reynolds and Scarlett take care of each other. The two feel their relationships are very similar and that is why they relate.

Bullock and Reynolds also talked about getting close in their movie-a naked scene. The two joked and knew that the scene was done for a good laugh that also involved them to smush up against each other and fall.

When it comes down to it all, the two friends loved working together. “This kind of chemistry and fireworks….there’s nothing you can do to manufacture it, or edit it together. It’s just there or it’s not. And to have that every day was literally like driving a Ferrari around on a set.”

Kate Walsh Spoofs Lauren Conrad, The Hills

Former star of The Hills and recent Dodgers pitcher Lauren Conrad may have said her goodbyes to the reality show that made her famous, but that does not mean she can't still laugh at the faux drama with the rest of us.

LC herself stopped by Saturday's "The Hills: A Staged Reading," put on by the Upright Citizens Brigade, and enjoyed the show alongside fans and comics alike.

Even better? Private Practice star Kate Walsh played the role of Conrad, the recently retired Hills beauty and leading lady, and Lauren couldn't get enough.

Throughout the evening, Walsh performed an uncanny impersonation of Conrad's trademark facial expressions and infamous lines from The Hills, including:

• "Tell me if he's cute 'cause I'm drunk."
• "You're a bad person. That's reality."
• "I want to forgive you, and I want to forget you."

The real Lauren sat just rows away, laughing at Walsh ... and thus herself.

The Upright Citizens Brigade, a renowned improvisational theater group in NYC and LA, kept the mood light, offering this amusing (and truly accurate) introduction as it prepared to lampoon The Hills and its cute, catty stars:
