The Voice Recap: Benji Brings It

One would think after five episodes and three seasons in less than 18 months, The Voice's blind auditions would start to fizzle a bit. Hasn't been the case so far.

The judges are on fire (namely Blake) and the talent keeps pouring in. Let's break down the contestants who advanced last night, with video performances ...

Team Adam Levine

Benji, a former race car driver, slayed with "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." Dude just commanded the stage and showed off some seriously impressive range:

Adam also picked up Collin McLoughlin, whose "Wild World" rendition was very good, even if it didn't knock any socks off like Benji. Take a look below ...

Team Cee Lo Green

Mycle Wastman joined Gang Green with "Let's Stay Together." That was a pretty terrific audition, even if he'll have to branch out considerably to stick around:

He also added Todd Kessler, Ben Taub, and Emily Earle:

Team Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera turned around only once all night, surprisingly. The "Your Body" singer was impressed only be Joselyn Rivera's "Stronger." This would be why:

Team Blake Shelton

Blake managed to steal the show despite going 0-4 on potential team members (he even admitted he's going to have to start trying harder). Man, he's funny though.

What did you think of the fifth round of The Voice blind auditions? Who is your favorite contestant so far in Season 3? What coach's team is looking like the best?

  1. Blake had me laughing so hard with his comment to about how Adam sounds. My favorite performance of the night had to be Wastman. I can’t help it I am a sucker for soul music, and I am so glad that he went with Cee Lo as his coach. I was talking about the show with a coworker at Dish, and he could not get over Benji. I liked his performance, but I don’t think he has the chops to compete with a lot of the other selected contestants. I missed the show because we hosted my daughter’s youth group last night, but I was able to catch it on a recording that my Hopper automatically made for Primetime Anytime. I love how it records all of the major networks during primetime for me so that I never miss one of my shows. I also can’t get enough of these blind auditions, keep them coming NBC!
